Star Wars: The Old Republic: Diverse Worlds
0Exciting that so much time and energy is spent in creating these huge worlds… too bad I prolly won’t explore them because it’s a MMO (too much work for too little artwork, by it’s nature it’s meant to always make you work to see it all, while with a singleplayer you know it wants you to see everything)… on the other hand i’m way too deep in Star Wars already because of all the books and i would much rather see something new
Bruno Gentile liiiiiiiiiiveesss!!!!!!!!
0I have two great heroes these days: Ryan Church & Bruno Gentile… whom i hadn’t heard of in a while… still, i regularly check by his site, if nothing else to tell people about him… and today… kaboom: new pic… update… and furthermore I find out he was involved not only in the latest Prince of Persia too (i can really feel his influence on Two Thrones), but also in… wait for it… Farcry 2 … SO THAT’S why a genre that normally might not very much interest me in subject matter a lot of people have been prasing as beautiful looking! (okay, okay, i realize there are many other reason… but … this guy’s my hero…)
Final Fantasy XIII DKS3713 Trailer
0I have yet to play a FF that i could identify with a lot and/or feel like my actions had any impact on the narative, but it’s hard to dis their reliably "wow" production values
Disciples 3 trailer
0I am interested in this game because i was very veeeery moved and impressed by Disciples 2. It had a superb art style, elegance, and a story that gripped me beyond words, both in themes and in a brilliant intertwining of the story timeline from the different perspective of opposing sides… I was worried about 3 but the subtle low key unassuming elegance of this trailer gives me hope both through art style and music… and i’m hoping there will be story too… I must say i’m worried about 3d vs prerendered animations which looked handdrawn-good… but hope it’ll be okay and it should come with a more natural feel… time will tell…
The Unfinished Swan – Tech Demo
0Yeayy!!! after a long pause artsygamer is back on… now with this very interesting blobs way of exploring a white world… it really is a white room on a white canvas :))
new PoP dev walkthrough
0Why did i play the previous PoP games… because of the brilliant artwork…well, the new one seems to have it too: i don’t quite like the cell shaded style, i would have prefered a more realistic approach but i can see they used their concept artists, and they have adressed my big interests frustration in games (dying) and they even promise branching… so htey’ve got me at least interested… i would get excited but for the fact that i’m pretty sure that there won’t be dialogues, and choices of that type and i’m afraid even the paths will recur… but i do like they adressed the getting lost issue. Here’s to hoping it will come out great…
Box art region differences
0
GamesRadar.com has a very cool (& funny) article comparing the differences between the box art in Japan and US. Can’t say I fully support their conclusion/title
"Why Japanese box art is better…"
but it’s certainly worth a peek IMHO.

Heavy rain… awaiting
0
This is THE game i’m waiting for. and not even because of the visuals: because it seems to be the only game i know of in the next gen which focuses on where i think gaming needs to go to become truly mainstream: not on gameplay but on story, content… if they do it right this is the game i’ll be showing to my non gaming friends: because i hope i can convince them that gaming can be more than button pushing: it can be a truly valid replacement for movies in terms of emotional and story experiences.

Prototype: artistic vision
0
Okay… this is a tricky one… on one hand:
the environment looks quite bad to mee, nothing that i find inspiring or artistic or anythign like that at all. obviously they can’t warp it a LOT like create amazing cathedrals if they want it to be set in a real town… but it’s not even warped enough to create mood for me: for example the city in Bloodlines was so corrupt that even though it’s modern it’s a whole other reality… Also the animations seem jerky and sometimes strange to me and I’m afraid the things they talk about in terms of vision and realism are far from being do-able with the present level of technology…
but on the other hand:
i quite agree with them: with all it’s (to me) uninterestingness this reality-inspired (i’m not going to say "realistic") setting could (if they make story branches or something intriguing) create something very special. I do agree that people need things they can relate to. And indeed towards the second part of the clip i did see movements which could fulfil fantasies…
So for me it’s a toss-up: i probably won’t play this game for the visual artwork, but if they play their story (and by that i mean choices/branching, or at the very least a fascinating anti-hero, but i doubt that alone could do it) right… well this could have the impact that Fallout 2 had on me… but again… i’m suspicious. I hope with all my heart and wish them the best of producitivity though!

Meanwhile, in the right corner we have a picture of a haunted penthouse, still burnign with etheral flames from the fires of jealosy & insanity that consumed the hotel, photo taken by myself.
