Also i’m sorry to hear it’s not very forgiving ongraphics hardware… especially now, in an age where hardware isn’t spreadign as fast as in the past… that was a thing that i liked Starcraft for: supporting older stuff and playable for all, not just endowed gamers…

It’s been quite a while since I saw a cinematic so very tragically well done. I approach all games (movies & books too, if possible) with an attitude of totally immersing myself in the characters… and realizing first person who I am, and what is happening, the sublte touches, the look in the mirror, the care for the little girl and the eerieness of the whole scene & situation, from her actions to the party, the sublte guilts and familiarities induced, and the tragic cruelty of the actions of the person using the plasmids on you to control your mind, simultaneously realizing both what’s happening and what you see and is also 100% true… all coupled with the human nature greed of the thieves and realizations that given the right context and the story from a different view it all seems justified (and indeed in the first Bioshock the bigdaddy seemed like a villain, no guilt over killing him in ingenious ways…) … shivers all through my body.

Star Wars drama & professional production at it’s best. I sure do have a love hate relationship with star wars: on one hand i do complain about it being a shallow black & white universe mostly, on the other i’ve been through countless books and even a couple of games set in it. My excuse is that that universe has also had the honor of drawing in some quite otherwise imaginative people… well, i guess i’m just trying to excuse myself for falling in excitement with this vid… making me forget for a moment that this is a MMO Great stuff!!! If it wasn’t a MMO i’d be all over the idea. Btw, one MMO i’m actually curious about (not that i’ll play it, mind you) the one based on Vampire: The Masquerade. I once played a bit of a MUSH in the universe and i thought it had great potential due to the social nature of the story.

It’s awesome getting a glimpse into the cinematics department of Blizzard: they’ve constantly impressed with amazing stuff, and seeing how they thought this out I expect this clip will also do that once it’s finished. For me personally it’s also fascinating to see these roughs, something i’ve never seen before animated like this with quite good voice: i bet this helps them not only in knowing what 3d assets to develop but also in the timing of the animation. cool!
