Wow! I just saw on steam a new RPG coming out… got excited… and though I don’t think it’s gonna be the type i like with many choices and character creation I must admit I am blown away by this trailer. So many unexpected things, so full of mood and such an interesting perspective… really gets one’s imagination going.

To be honest i’m not very intro retro atmosphere, not that much into real-world detective stuff, but this game I feel might deserve a mention for it’s other types of artwork: the faces of the characters are movie-like expressive, the script seems solid with brilliant voice work, so, should it have exploration AND choices… well, it could be a nice step forward for games (hoping stuff since it’s got Rockstar behind it). We’ll see…

Far Cry 2 – tourism

Haven’t really played the game but the beginning section i find brilliant. I can totally see travel games like this: you’re the one looking around, getting to see all sorts of animals in the wilderness, places you couldn’t otherwise visit or explore… getting the tour, and unleashed (how cool would it be to have a game like that but with taking photos and exploration focus)

And continuing on Bia’s request for more funny games: Discworld 2. (if you like the games you’ll love Terry Pratchett’s books that they were based on). Seriously, this is the ending song, sorry it may seem a bit morbid (though i think in a Monty Python kind of way it looks on the bright side of death ), but actually the games are FULL of very smart dialogue and very cool jokes.

This scene is one i’ll never forget :))))))))))))))))))) The whole game is full of funny stuff, but this one’s one’s truly inside joke material :D Also funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCDTrog_Ges&feature=related the bit with the bird stealing the flag always makes me chuckle :D

Devil May Cry 3 – Intro

The scene the last gameSketch was referring to. I loved the overall story, but the strong reason this game stuck with me (despite annoying difficulty: I wasn’t even able to pass the 3rd map i think on easy before they came out with the special edition) was it’s strong emphasis on… well, style? I’d say style over substance but i think it had substance too. Plus the artwork was very original and I found the story to be quite fresh too.
