Theme requested by Mat on account of the Limbo sketch (yes, i know, he didn’t comment on the thread… complaints have been heard. Just this time.).

Outstanding orders: Radu x3, VideoGamesAsArt x2 , thegazer, rsocu. Awaiting scenes from you guys. Newcomers may ask for a freebie.
EarthWorm Jim 2
1I haven’t really played much of it, but everything I saw had such great visuals and the humor was so funny over the top that I have to mention it. The animations are like soooooo expressive… (carryin heavy cows comes to mind… or was it pigs? or both? no no… there was something with the cows, the milking?) … enjoy :D
PS: love the twist on stealing the princess
PS2: Shiny entertainment rooocks!
PS3: I love how they didn’t stay away from the fact that he is a worm and many times u see his wormy shapes put to use

Theme proposed by Firefish. In a tripple whammy reason (it’s very rough, 40th aniversary & possibly little known game) this one will get 2 credits for whoever guesses the game. Good luck artsy gamers!

Far Cry 2 – tourism
4Haven’t really played the game but the beginning section i find brilliant. I can totally see travel games like this: you’re the one looking around, getting to see all sorts of animals in the wilderness, places you couldn’t otherwise visit or explore… getting the tour, and unleashed (how cool would it be to have a game like that but with taking photos and exploration focus)

6A cool proposal by Bia.
“Bia Hawks?!? But didn’t she already have her go… why her and not us?”, the quickly gathering mob with tar, feathers and the occasional pitchfork asks.
“Wait wait!”, i say. “I have a good reason! Don’t murderize her just yet! In exchange she has promised to write a brilliant article on the game… and wait, there’s more! She’ll write more in the future.”
The mob seems appeased… for now :D

Shadow of the Colossus
2I shall do like the game, and say few words, though this is a GREAT masterpiece and one of the handful of games that deserve to be at the forefront of the games as art movement! To me it always made me think of some kind of mythical poetry. The game is so full of space to think, so charged with emotional atmosphere… and don’t even get me started about the music. Or the places, the guilt about the colossi who more and more feel like peaceful creatures and you’re the one …oh, and i’m not even one of those who have filled pages and pages of debates about the moral choice/sacrifice of it all and if it can be justified/was worth it, or the fantastic personality of the horsy… So, i’ll leave you with the folow-up beginning movie:

3Not even the main character, in a not too well known game (though a big company u know for other reasons)… but one which i loved. So much so i even converted a ton of it’s maps from normal maps into race maps :P. Curious if anybody else played this game. The music is super fun and is made by the one group that i can’t find anywhere but a couple of really great game soundtracks… so wanna know where those guys are now.

Games for the Everybody! Yeayyy!!!

I’m so happy to see gaming is going in the right direction: to the masses! Just like there have been other forms of art that for a while were limited to a privileged few, I feel games still are to some degree, but with the spread of culture, more opportunities and devices on which you can enjoy them… i think it’s getting close. I doubt this one is at this point as smooth a solution as a console… but I definitely see it as a step in the right direction! A lil box that u hook to your TV and suddenly games become more like changing channels. Now i’m only waiting for a) widespread use of such solutions b) for commercial models such as tv advertising to kick in heavy so that people can game just as they watch TV: for absolutely free. Sure, u pay a small price such as fixed hours or some adds, but it’s a low entry barrier… and for later on there’s rentals and buys. The future is commin, I tell ya!
