I have to give a shout out for this brilliant music, it’s been in my head for the last couple of days and i finally remembered where it was from. Also from Civ 3 I’d recommend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb-30whUbaI&feature=related and the Civ 4 opening song is quite unique & memorable too http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/s/Baba+Yetu/5301o

PS: oh, definitely this one from Civ 3: very romantic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyAnyqYmjdo&feature=related

To me this game is living proof that not technology, but artwork drives a great game. It’s scenes and scenery are pure concept art that totally amazes and inspires. I’ll play it even just for artwork inspiration. Couple that with grand storytelling and you can see even reviewers accepting fixed camera angles and seeing everything as revolutionary (i have a feeling like i was reading about a previous GoW game that those angles allow for some serious geometry culling). Big thumbs up to the games industry!

Yakuza 3 [GT review]

I honestly probably wouldn’t get this game if I hadn’t played Yakuza 2… but with that context and if this one is anything like that: I’m not a big GTA fan… I’ve played through some, even enjoyed some… but Yakuza 2 was to me much more: i found myself sucked into the story… and though the world had pretty clear limitations I got quite immersed, because of catching characters, and a story that seemed believable in it’s moral and social complexities. Drawbacks that i’m expecting this one to have too is repetitiveness and fighting… but in the context it works and it’s worth it.

PS: yes, i’m posting it under the cathergory Literature, not because there might be quite a bit of reading there, but because, to me at least, it’s merit is not in it’s graphics, or gameplay, but in it’s amazing and moving story.

Can’t say I’ve really been a fan of the series, possibly ever (i have my doubts about my first one which i found to be an original setting) BUT i must say i’m proud of the game industry producing such moving stuff, in any context!
