Mirror’s Edge seems quite an interesting experience but except for the brave and interesting color choice and polished look I can’t say I’m very much impressed by it’s art. Everything seems to be a variation on the dreaded box design… which while probably realistic doesn’t make for much artistic interest. Also the lack of exploration and linearity further dampened my interest. Still, it is first person and should make for a quite unique dream-like experience…

Nostalgia is a funny thing indeed. My experience was similar with just about all games i first played the sequel to, including Fallout 2 & Kotor 2: i liked them more. One could argue that they are more refined… but maybe it’s just nostalgia working the other way around

I was just thinking of putting Daxter as my avatar again… because he’s just soooooooo awesome… and then i found this
)) lloooollzzz!!! Seriously though i love Daxter: amazing humor, very cute, and generally speaking an awesome and well developed character (Jak & Daxter 1-3, Daxter). Long live Daxter! (oh and for those who know the rocket scene… brilliant & soooo much fun!!!)

I’m happy that Yakuza is getting such a positive reaction… well, i may not be expressing myself correctly: i’m happy that what seems to be a mature game is getting appreciation. Unfortunatelly I can’t really relate either to the fighting or the yakuza story (i’m a make my own story, huge grand story, not everyday lives, fiction preferably)… but still… yeayy!

Music games don’t really rock my world but since music does play a lead role in my life I do have to post this one if for no other reason than to make non-gamers go "WOooow!" at the power of games: you know something big is up when that many big artists join in and it becomes a strong delivery medium.

I feel so very strange saying this, for one because this is the same me that quite enjoys the violence levels in games BUT hearing these guys talk… well… it scares me. I like the maturity of games when they express actions and consequences, reasons… but what they talk about seems to not really have any kind of justification. I don’t hear in the echoes of their words any greater reasons, ideals… and I guess that scares me in a way similar to those parents hearing about violent games. Still, i guess it’s a logical result of a demand for this and I’m quite happy it’s out there, I just hope there’s also enough counter balance in the world to stop those who might be foolish enough to translate these concepts into a real world. I’m not a problem because I pretty much live in imaginary words and reality is a poor shadow of those things most of the time… but…
